Mortal Shell 2 Gloom Farm & Glimpse Guide
Quick answer: Gloom levels the Harbinger; Glimpse bonds Shells. Farm Gloom on a Beacon loop you can clear in under a minute. Spend Glimpse slowly: launch reports say a Shell takes about 27 Glimpse to max, so a first run usually fully upgrades only two or three Shells.

GameSpot's launch playthrough collected around 90 Glimpse across eight Shells and still had to budget summons. Bond 1 costs 1 Glimpse. Bond 0→4 is reported as 27 Glimpse per Shell.

Reddit's useful Gloom trick: if a boss room is covered in your dropped Gloom, walk in, pick it up, pause, quit to title, and continue. You respawn at the last checkpoint with the Gloom in inventory. You can also shoot distant Gloom to retrieve it.
How to spend Glimpse
- Unlock Tiel or Proxima first, then put Bond 1 on the Shell you actually enjoy.
- Do not max a Shell you have not played for an hour. Bond progress is treated as effectively irreversible without a backup save.
- Pre-boss spirit summons cost 1 Glimpse each. They help, but they compete with Bond 4 perks.
- Balance Patch 1 refunds Glimpse previously spent on Shell maps and moves those maps onto a Gloom cost. Check the Shell Keeper alcove in Blackmarrow for the refund.
