Mortal Shell 2 Best Shells Tier List

Launch-week ranking
| Tier | Shell | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Tiel | Earliest unlock, near-permanent invisibility once Bond 3 Lethality is online, excellent for bosses and exploration. |
| S | Sester Genessa | Highest damage ceiling via Faithful / Stray Doubles. Late unlock and a special switch rule. |
| A | Eredrim | Best dedicated boss killer. Two Shoulder Bashes can force Break. Weaker in packed rooms until you can execute. |
| A | Proxima | Best early tank and farmer. Hook, lightning, and 15% mitigation. Falls off later unless you like the kit. |
| A / skill | Smert | Time-stop Miracle into low-HP Resolve loop. Highest ceiling, zero margin for error. |
| A with investment | Sariel | Pain / Curse kit becomes strong at Bond 4. Awkward until then. |
| B+ | Gragu | Staggering Blow and kill-to-heal. Great in the overworld, weaker in empty boss arenas. |
| B | Lazlo | Armor and Retribution shockwaves. Solid, less unique than the S-tier kits. |
Reddit's current fun pick is often Eredrim (shoulder bash + Axatana + Harden). Stealth and boss players report Tiel as "easy mode" after Bond 3. Both can be true.
Best starting Shell
Tiel if you want to live. He is on the dirt path east/southeast of Widow's Overlook in a shallow grave, and invisibility forgives bad routing. Proxima if you want a bigger health pool and a hook for groups. Unlock both; only one of them needs your Glimpse stack.
Harros is prologue-only. You cannot retrieve him as a permanent Shell.
Glimpse rule
Maxing a Shell is roughly 27 Glimpse. Summons cost 1 Glimpse each. A greedy first run looks like: Bond 4 on Tiel or Eredrim, Bond 1 on everyone else, leftover Glimpse for Genessa later. Do not max a Shell you have not played.
