Mortal Shell 2 Strange Grisha Boss Guide

Quick answer: Dodge the red unblockable swings laterally and parry regular slashes to fill its Break meter. For an easy kill, bait it toward the cliff edge and land an Eredrim Riposte—the concluding kick knocks Strange Grisha into the surrounding chasm for an instant kill. Pick up the loose Dorsalite in the arena before leaving!

Location and route

Boss location: Isolated island arena in Withered Shoals, accessed via the Bone Gate / Traversal Gate to the right of the wooden bridge before Hexapod.

Progress through Withered Shoals past the Crow skull. Before descending toward Hexapod's Burrow, branch right across the wooden bridge to find a Bone Gate that launches you onto the isolated island arena.

Preparation checklist

Equip Eredrim if you want to use the cliff-edge kick cheese.
Bring Stasis resistance or keep your spacing clean, as its claw attacks build Stasis.
Equip a high-stagger primary weapon (e.g. Obsidian Hammer or Great Martyr's Blade) to break its guard quickly.
Check the arena perimeter for a loose Dorsalite weapon upgrade material before taking the exit gate.

Attacks and counters

Step-by-step fight plan

Enter via the Bone Gate and avoid committing to long combos during its opening rush.
Use Harden or parries on standard claw sweeps to build up the Break meter.
When staggered, perform a Riposte. If positioned near the edge with Eredrim, the follow-up kick will push it off the cliff.
Be careful during the Riposte animation that your own forward momentum does not carry you over the edge with it.
Loot the Strange Remnant, Grisha Remnant, and the arena Dorsalite before porting back.

Strange Remnant (Unique Sidearm Tarstone: converts shots into chaining/arcing projectiles).
Grisha Remnant (Grisha phantom summon charge / rank-up material).
