Mortal Shell 2 Endings — Send Ova & Baghead

Quick answer: There are two endings. The main ending starts only when you choose Send Ova at the Gloom Siphon after beating Zmey. The secret ending is Baghead's empty-handed quest at Desolate Peak. Defeating Zmey does not lock you out of free roam.

Main ending: Send Ova

  1. Collect enough Ova (launch guides use 168) and open the Unfound Path from the Gloom Siphon in Marrow Keep.
  2. Defeat the three tendril guardians, then Zmey, the Unbidden.
  3. You return to free roam. Finish missable quests, Shells, weapons, and trophies now.
  4. When you are ready, talk to the Gloom Siphon and choose Send Ova. That starts the ending and New Game Plus sequence.
Do not Send Ova if you still need cleanup. The boss kill is not the lock; the menu choice is.

Secret ending: Baghead

Baghead sits on a stone throne at Desolate Peak, reached from the Citadel of Penance / Gloomshade Grove side. He rejects every offering. The joke is to return with nothing.

  1. Sit with the group and accept the request.
  2. Pick up Special Moonshine, offer it, then put it back after he refuses.
  3. Return empty-handed and confirm every final prompt.

Reward: the Bag Holder achievement and a short alternate credits scene. It is separate from Send Ova. Save first if you still have other business in the same session.

Can you get both?

Yes. Do Baghead during free roam, then Send Ova when the save is finished. NG+ (called New Purpose in-game) carries equipment and Shell Bonds but resets quest and Ova state — details on the New Game Plus page.
