Mortal Shell 2 Offering Chests — Light 3 Candles
Quick answer: Offering chests open when you light three candles in the same area — not with a key. The first one most players hit is the Mushroom Village chest (Auspicious Stone). Walk the neighborhood until three candles are lit, then return to the chest.

The rule
- Find the locked chest. It usually sits in a plaza or shrine, not a dungeon boss room.
- Search the same neighborhood for three offering candles.
- Light each candle. When all three are burning, the chest unlocks.
If the chest stays shut, you missed a candle, not a key. Expand the search radius around that chest rather than leaving the region.
Mushroom Village chest
This is the one that holds Auspicious Stone (melee crit chance). Launch guides place the three candles as:
- Just to the right of the chest / stage area.
- Behind the large house on the left path.
- Off to the right of the Mushroom Village Beacon.
